The long-term goal of our lab is to study the role of nuclear architecture in normal plant development and stress conditions.  We use a combination of genetics, cell biology and microscopy techniques to study the basic biology of the cell nucleus in land plants. Arabidopsis is a member of the mustard (Brassicaceae) family and it is a simple and inexpensive tool to teach undergraduates basic cell and developmental biology concepts in the laboratory.
